Case Study

Voice and presentation coaching

Initial situation

Ms. Müller, a manager in a medium-sized company, called me because she wanted to improve her presentation skills. She described how she often speaks in front of large groups and finds it difficult to use her voice effectively and convincingly. She also found it difficult to get to the heart of her content succinctly. Her goals were to show more presence and to convince her audience with a clear, strong voice and structured content.

Goals of the coaching:

voice training

improving the carrying capacity and modulation of the voice.

structuring the content

Conveying key messages concisely and clearly.

presence and self-confidence

stronger stage presence and convincing performance.

My recommendation:

To get the most out of coaching, I recommend a basic coaching package with a series of five coaching sessions, each lasting one to two hours. You can continue this basic package with further individual appointments or with a coaching advanced package with a further five coaching sessions lasting one to two hours.

Recommended schedule:

  • Frequenz: Die Sitzungen sollten idealerweise im Abstand von etwa zwei Wochen stattfinden.
  • Why this schedule? This rhythm gives you enough time to try out and consolidate the skills learned in the sessions in practice. At the same time, we have the opportunity to address your current challenges and experiences in the following sessions.

Coaching can take place on-site at the Vocal Acting Studio in Munich or online.
It is also possible to conduct the coaching in English.

I would be happy to provide you with an individual offer that optimally reflects your personal wishes.

Methodology

First session: diagnosis and goal setting In the first session, we analyzed Ms. Müller’s current presentation skills. We carried out a vocal assessment and recorded a sample presentation. We identified the main problems: a monotone voice, low volume and a certain nervousness that affected her presence.

voice training

We started with breathing exercises to lay the foundations for a powerful voice. Exercises such as diaphragmatic breathing helped her to stabilize her voice and create more volume. We then worked on the modulation of the voice. Through targeted exercises, Ms. Müller learned to use her pitch and volume variably in order to convey emotions and meaning more effectively.

content structuring

Parallel to the voice training, we worked on the structure of her presentations. We used the 3-act structure to organize her content clearly and logically. Each act included a clear introduction, a main part with the most important information and a strong conclusion. This structure enabled Ms. Müller to convey her key messages concisely and memorably.

presence and self-confidence

To strengthen her stage presence, we used many practical exercises from acting. We placed particular emphasis on her posture, gestures and facial expressions, and we also integrated exercises to train “free speaking”.Ms. Müller learned how to transform her nervousness into positive energy and how to express her personality authentically. Feedback and video analysis helped her to continuously improve.

Results

After several weeks of intensive training, Ms. Müller showed clear progress. Her voice was now clear and sustainable, and she was able to modulate it effectively to captivate her audience. Her presentations were logically structured and to the point. Ms. Müller’s self-confidence on stage had grown noticeably and she received positive feedback from her colleagues and superiors.

Conclusion

Ms. Müller was able to significantly improve her presentation skills as a result of the coaching. She has learned to use her voice as an effective instrument and to convey her content precisely and clearly. Her increased presence and self-confidence now contribute significantly to her success as a manager.
